what is it?

what is it?
It's a doctrine/manifesto/project of worldwide sleeper cell adherents with no centralized planning

This way when one of their member is caught, he doesn't even have sufficient information to collapse the entire project. It's also impossible to predict future terrorist attacks this way.

Exactly it's just a random group of loosely connected people who share an unstructured ideology. And to think....the US actually launched a fucking war in a country over this.

Also they never existed in Iraq until Abu Musab Zarqawi pledged allegiance to bin Laden and suddenly became 'al Qaeda in Iraq'. He was always ideologically different to al Qaeda (bin Laden, Abdullah Azizam and Zwahiri) anyway. They hardly saw themselves taking control of a country and setting up a state.

You’re right. But they’re not “loosely connected” like someone here says. Al Qaeda consisted of foreign fighters who used to fight for the Muhajideen against the Soviets. After they won, they couldn’t go back to their own country anymore since their nationalities were no longer valid. They became a stateless people. That’s what Al Qaeda is.
