I have not seen a single person here mention how alain delon's esr consistently measures around 0.43-0.44. How does he look so good despite this flaw?

It's on the lower end of the ideal ratio check my 38 ratios thread for all the ideal measurements

I thought lower esr was penalized more heavily than higher esr
Ideal means ideal
A little over or little under ideal is fine
Too much can fuck up any face, usually lower ratios mean an incel skull while higher ones mean an ogre skull, so higher is better than lower but this is other than the ideal ratios

also since its one of the most important of your 38 ratios, wouldnt a minor deviation be very bad for harmony??

At his best, I agree, but at his worst, he looked pretty shitty.
Lifefuel for me since I have similar eye shape (but 0.47 ESR) but heaps more prominent cheekbones but the same under eye hollowness, which is why I underrate him; I see it in myself and hate it.

because ur eyes are a much better calculator for attractiveness than ratios.

you know we have a special area in the brain for seeing "harmony"?

its called the fusiform face area within the inferior temporal cortex

If anything the video supports that ratios are more important as it says that arrangement and orientation are really important for recognizability and part of the holistic processing in the FFA
