They could feel a lot of pain like us when they’ll lose their parents for example, but they won’t feel that everyday pain of rotting home

Types of pain. Not necessarily amount, or intensity

Alot of people who you think have everything do have depression, anxiety, abused dog syndrome etc on a day to day. Typically they're good at hiding it which is actually more painful. And there are stories of people like that roping.

Of course there's nuance to it. I actually think your baseline happiness has more to do with genetics than it does actual life scenario. That's why depression runs in families and there's subhumans with dogshit lives who genuinely are content
