A complete guide to eye and periorbital procedures.
Click each spoiler for details, pros & cons, and prices.
Canthoplasty - permanent/long-lasting change in the shape of the eye — you can achieve the “almond eye look.”
During the surgery, the surgeon cuts the lateral corner of the eye, detaches it, and moves it upward, securing it in a higher position.
The visual changes are subtle, but because the canthus is slightly lifted, and this procedure often includes eyelid retraction surgery, the eye looks less tired, more striking, and lively.
CANTHOPLASTY BEFORE & AFTER
Many canthoplasties are done together with a brow lift (either direct or endoscopic), which helps achieve the “lifted eye” effect.
A canthoplasty alone will tighten the lower eyelid and slightly lift the canthus, but you won’t get that fully lifted look.
Few men get a brow lift because it looks feminine, and usually the best solution is infraorbital implant.
CANTHOPLASTY + BROW LIFT BEFORE & AFTER
Price: Typically €2,300–€5,000.
Instead of just stitching the tendon back to soft tissue, the surgeon drills a tiny hole in the outer eye socket bone and anchors the tendon through it.
This provides stronger support and a higher, sharper corner position.
Pros:
Stronger, longer-lasting fixation
Can give a more dramatic almond or fox eye appearance
Ideal for people who have had previous eyelid surgeries or have weak tendon support.
Cons:
It's more invasive (greater risk)
More swelling and longer recovery
Requires a highly skilled surgeon, or the results can look unnatural
Harder to reverse if overdone
- It’s harder to find surgeons who perform this method.
- Personally, I know Dr. Burak Sercan performs it.
Price: Usually €5,000–€9,000

Lateral Drill Bone Canthoplasty
This is the more advanced version of a canthoplasty.Instead of just stitching the tendon back to soft tissue, the surgeon drills a tiny hole in the outer eye socket bone and anchors the tendon through it.
This provides stronger support and a higher, sharper corner position.
Pros:
Stronger, longer-lasting fixation
Can give a more dramatic almond or fox eye appearance

Canthopexy, the surgeon does not cut the corner of the eye.
Instead, the lateral tendon is reinforced, usually by being tightened with sutures.
Visually, the effect is almost unnoticeable, and this procedure is often done alongside lower blepharoplasty to prevent the eyelid from sagging.
Price: Usually about half the cost of a canthoplasty. (€800-€3,000)
It’s a minimally invasive procedure.
CANTHOPEXY PERFORMED WITH LOWER BLEPHAROPLASTY
Instead, the lateral tendon is reinforced, usually by being tightened with sutures.
Visually, the effect is almost unnoticeable, and this procedure is often done alongside lower blepharoplasty to prevent the eyelid from sagging.
Price: Usually about half the cost of a canthoplasty. (€800-€3,000)
It’s a minimally invasive procedure.
CANTHOPEXY PERFORMED WITH LOWER BLEPHAROPLASTY
Brow Lifts
Price: Typically €3,000–€8,000 depending on the technique and clinic.Endoscopic Brow Lift
This is a minimally invasive method.Small incisions are made behind the hairline.
An endoscope is used to lift the forehead and reposition the brow.
The brow is secured with sutures or small fixation devices.
Pros:
Less scarring
Shorter recovery (1–2 weeks)
Good for subtle lifting and rejuvenation
Cons:
Slightly less dramatic lift than open methods
Requires specialized surgeon and equipment
More expensive than mini or temporal lifts
ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €3,500–€6,000
Direct Brow Lift
This is a more invasive, straightforward method.Incisions are made directly above the brow.
Excess skin is removed, and the brow is lifted and fixed.
Pros:
Immediate and noticeable lifting
Good for patients with heavy or low brows
Simple technique, widely available
Cons:
Visible scars along the brow line (usually fade over time)
Longer recovery than endoscopic lift
Less suited for younger patients or subtle lifting
DIRECT BROW LIFT BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €3,000–€5,500
Temporal or Lateral Brow Lift
This focuses on lifting the outer part of the brow only.Incisions are made near the temples, often hidden in the hairline.
Outer brow is elevated and secured with sutures or fixation devices.
Pros:
Targets “droopy” outer brow specifically
Minimal scarring and quicker recovery
Can be combined with eyelid surgery
Cons:
Limited lift, not for overall brow sagging
Less dramatic than full forehead lift
LATERAL BROW LIFT BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €2,500–€4,500
Infraorbital Implants
This procedure enhances the area below the eyes, targeting the infraorbital rim for improved contour and volume.Overview
A small incision is made either inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival) or just under the lash line (subciliary).A custom or preformed implant is inserted along the infraorbital rim.
The implant is secured with screws or left in place depending on design and surgeon preference.
Pros:
Restores midface volume and reduces hollownessMinimally visible scarring when using internal incisions
Can improve tear trough appearance and support lower eyelid
Cons:
Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeksRisk of implant shifting that may lead to loss of vision
Possible asymmetry
Requires precise planning for optimal contour and natural results
INFRAORBITAL IMPLANT BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €3,000–€8,000
Supraorbital Implants
This procedure enhances the upper orbital rim, improving brow and forehead projection, and balancing facial contours.Overview
Incisions are made along the upper eyelid crease or hairline.Custom or preformed implants are placed above the orbital rim.
Implants are fixed with screws or sutures to maintain position.
Pros:
Restores upper orbital volume and brow supportImproves overall eye contour and reduces deep-set appearance
Can complement brow lifts or forehead rejuvenation
Cons:
Risk of visible implant edges if not properly placedSwelling, bruising, and temporary numbness may occur
Longer recovery compared with non-implant procedures
Price: €3,500–€12,000
Ptosis Correction Surgery
This procedure addresses drooping upper eyelids caused by weakened eyelid muscles, improving both appearance and vision.Overview
Small incisions are made along the natural eyelid crease. The levator muscle (which lifts the eyelid) is tightened or reattached.
Excess skin may be removed, and sutures are used to secure the eyelid.
Pros:
Corrects droopy eyelids and improves field of visionLong-lasting results
Can be combined with upper blepharoplasty
Cons:
Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeksRisk of asymmetry or overcorrection
Requires precise surgical technique for natural results
PTOSIS CORRECTION BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €1,500–€4,500
Fat Grafting
Fat grafting restores volume loss in the face, including both upper and lower eyelids, tear troughs, cheeks, and temples.Overview
Fat is harvested from areas like the abdomen or thighs. The fat is processed and purified.
Small injections are made into the target areas to restore volume and smooth contours.
Pros:
Natural filler using your own tissueImproves hollows, wrinkles, and facial symmetry
Minimal risk of allergic reaction
Cons:
Some fat may be resorbed over time, requiring touch-upsSwelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks
Requires experience to avoid lumps or irregularities
FAT GRAFTING BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €1,000–€4,000
Upper Blepharoplasty
This surgery removes excess skin, fat, or muscle from the upper eyelids to create a more youthful and alert appearance.Overview
Incisions are made along the natural upper eyelid crease.Excess skin and sometimes fat are removed or repositioned.
The incision is closed with fine sutures for minimal scarring.
Pros:
Refreshes eyelid appearance, making eyes look more open and alertCan improve vision if excess skin obstructs the field
Minimal visible scarring when done along the crease
Cons:
Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeksRisk of asymmetry or overcorrection
Not a solution for droopy eyelids caused by weak muscles (ptosis)
UPPER BLEPHARO BEFORE & AFTER
Orbital Decompression
This surgery is used to treat eye protrusion (proptosis) often caused by thyroid eye disease or trauma, by increasing the space in the orbit.Overview
Incisions are made either inside the eyelid, along the conjunctiva, or sometimes near the eyebrow.Bone and/or fat is removed from the orbital walls to create more space for the eye.
Can be performed via medial, lateral, or combined approaches depending on severity.
Pros:
Reduces eye protrusion and improves eyelid closureCan prevent or treat optic nerve compression
Can be combined with eyelid surgery for aesthetic improvement
Cons:
Risk of double vision or temporary eye movement issuesSwelling, bruising, and mild discomfort for several weeks
Requires highly specialized surgical expertise
ORBITAL DECOMPRESSION BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €4,000–€8,500
Orbital Box Osteotomy
This is an advanced and very risky procedure for repositioning the entire eye socket to correct congenital deformities, trauma, or severe asymmetry.Overview
Incisions are made around the orbit, often combining eyelid, conjunctival, and sometimes craniofacial approaches.Bones of the orbit are carefully cut, mobilized, and repositioned.
Titanium plates or screws are used to secure the new orbital position.
Pros:
Corrects severe orbital deformities and asymmetryCan significantly improve both function and aesthetics
Provides permanent structural correction
Cons:
Highly complex and requires craniofacial surgical expertiseLonger recovery (4–6 weeks) and potential hospitalization
Risks include vision changes, bleeding, infection, and nerve injury
ORBITAL BOX OSTEOTOMY BEFORE & AFTER
Price: €8,000–€25,000
