People who obsessively rate other people’s attractiveness are often trying to solve their own position in the hierarchy.
Think about it, most people don’t spend hours analysing faces unless there’s something in it for them. Half the time they’re not actually judging the other person, they’re using them as a reference point.
“How attractive is he?”
Quietly translates into
“Where do i stand compared to him?”
I think a lot of looks discussion is just self ranking disguised as analysis.
Thoughts?
