You need to be smart to be able to go pro
Most people arent smart
Therefore most cant go pro, even if they tried

Being pro is not about how good you are, it's about your connections

Such a retarded take, different things take a lot longer to master.

The main difference in becoming a pro at something, is the competition. If you wanted to become a pro- footballer (soccer for yanks) you’ll be gunning against literal hundreds of millions of people (1 in 80 people in the world at least want to be a footballer, especially growing up). Comparing it to becoming a pro hockey player, where less eyes are on the sport, therefore less potential prospects, and so you have less competition to make it.

You dont think its genetics?
I think genetics are a very big factor, but there’s no field where people are so genetically gifted that they can outclass decades of hard work.

I still think tho that it would take the same time to go a pro at clash royale as football i dont mean getting in a professional team but reaching skills of a pro player.

in counter strike pretty much all pros have 15k hours absolute minimum
donk has 40k hours

Of course they can, Not specifically in science but think martial arts. If you are big and genetically "perfect" you will outclass 20 years hard work with 5 years. Because I think at some point graph goes to plateau.

genshin impact character artifacts building is hard the mental torture and gambling like odds makes it impossible to enter the character leaderboards

And I have been grinding artifacts for 8 months and I'm still top 22k/3%

If arlemygoat/Mauikamygoat is on this forum and viewing this thread DM me on how you got top 1 out of 500million players and how did you beat the Chinese playerbase

sports and martial arts are completely different, i was thinking about games like csgo or stuff like that. Any physiqual advantage in sports make a major differents but in gaming it doesnt really matter since its allways pattern regocnition and experience + muscle memory

But do you think thats because the pros are no lifers or is it because the hardness
both tbh
there are like 50000 russians who grind faceit all day but not even 1% will ever be good enough to get paid to play the game

A majority of chess players literally lack the genetic capacity to go pro in a shooter or a moba so big cap. Chess is literally just who has spent more time memorizing game theory and board positions. Its actually really not hard at all it's just higher iq people can remember more. They're not even playing a game theyre just remembering board positions there's zero actual thought

True

Partially true because if you look into it you'll notice a lot of pro gamers were pros in multiple different games over like a decade from entirely different genres, guys who went pro in league of legends, starcraft, AND csgo. Lots of pros are just really good at games in general
