As I was coming back from the gym on the train with my bike, 3 kids maybe 2-3 years younger than me (I’m 17) were talking about stealing bikes, and began eyeing my bike up. I was quite a bit taller than them and also had a blissful pump from the gym, which obviously makes myself look bigger and I guess more threatening. They began to ram into my bike, which I didn’t let slide so I lowkey punched him in the back and then told him to get the fuck of the train, he tried to hit back but his friends stopped him

Short kings will stay angry lol

I always try not too. They are genuinely the scum of the earth, but I feel the harder you try to be unphased by them, the more likely they will approach you

The more you appear to be unfazed the more people associate it with submissiveness, which is understandable but you gotta just realise it’s not worth it.

Why? Because realistically they’re always going to try to threaten you but they can never simply snatch the bike off you just like that even punching them in the back because they rammed in to you can open up a perception that you feel like you’re vulnerable. When ignoring it can show you’re unbothered by it and they would actually have to initiate a fight to get the bike rather than you striking first and then starting a fight over that.

Even if his intentions were to ram my bike for the fun of it or to steal it, the punch was for not listening to me when I asked him, politely to not ram my bike. But yes I completely agree

To be honest with you the punch shouldn’t of happen in the first place because that’s where you run into trouble w the police. Even if you didn’t start it you don’t throw a punch because of it, you wanna know why? Cause they can interpret it as an accidental nudge and if the police agrees with him, what are you gonna do then yk?

That is a good point, but it was a busy train, with cctv. I’m sure witnesses would be on my side. And idk where ur from but in the uk we have a group of people called Gypsies/Travellers who constantly break the law, don’t pay tax, steal and so much more. They never get arrested unless caught in the act since they have no fixed address, so the whole case wouldn’t hold up in court as the law has no way of contacting the victim or offender, how ever you want to look at the situation. In my eyes I did the right thing, sure it was a bit much but it’s a strong way to show them to behave
