Imo, worth it.
The skin consequences are imo not highly negative, yet the increased masculinity vibe gives him more attractive looks.

What is more important?
Youthful looks or masculinity?
In his case with his weak jaw and chin line (and Manley I read later on). He needs the masculinity more, then the youth vibe.
If he was tall and had a nice masculine chin and jawline , then it would be different. Imo.
