alternate approach to entrance exams

a lot of entrance exams have no correlation with the field they are trying to get into. The exam should be of the skills at doing that specific job and the groundwork and relevant knowledge and resources should be mentioned and do a test run exactly how the job is done and the top contenders should be selected instead of wasting your time on irrelevant curriculum

like a hackathon or janitor contest or smth

memorizing a bunch of useless garbage does not make you better at that job and it's a horrible selection process

most people do have an idea of what they DON'T want to do but end up confining themself this way

atleast jee problem solving is fun as fuck. It gives you dopamine rush when you solve a tough question you couldn't and get some eureka moment when taking a piss and sharpens your analytical skills

But upsc? bruh. This is more a test of not getting bored to death and who can do the most slavery
