These are both ill-defined terms. The term "ethnicity" has little to do with skin colour. Ethnicity is about common ancestry, culture, customs and language.

The term "white" is also an opaque term. It was never well-defined and attempts to restrict the usage of the term to the arbitrary concept of "Europe" is futile.
