Am I doing it wrong?

I try to follow the Bible but I see people sinning in all types of ways yet they claim to be Christians. And didn't the pope give the green light on the LGBTQ? All following the Bible has done for me is push me off the edge. Do I just keep trying to follow its commandments or do whatever I want but claim that Jesus is King?
