Most older civilizations built a shared beauty culture.
America never did. Without a developed beauty culture, Americans tend to substitute power cues for aesthetic ones. That's how you get the bully archetype as the national ideal: tall, loud, muscular, heavy jaw, visible aggression.
Examples of the bully archetype:
Logan Paul
Jacob Elordi
Pete Davidson
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Channing Tatum
That's also why a lot of Americans can't really process the blackpill or PSL ideas. You'll hear people say "confidence" or "personality" not because they're lying, but because that's genuinely how their social world functions. When you grow up in a culture that never defined beauty, you start equating visible dominance and high energy with good looking.
Until America develops a real beauty culture, power will stay America's default definition of attractive, and this divide will keep widening.
