Yeah nightcrawler is definitely better, imo. American Psycho was contrived and has memorabe memes/quotes but that's about it. A character study of an actual pure sociopath would be Lou Bloom from Nightcrawler. How he tries to imitate people and 'feelings' like some sort of alien that has studied humans through movies and mimics emotions using a mirror. Copying platitudes and aphorisms he thinks will fit into situations. Perfect example at the start when he's asking for that job at the scrap yard as if he's applying for a high level management job at some large corporation after he's just sold the dude stolen parts. LMAO. It's his best performance, imo. Something about him makes your skin crawl.
