thats true they're often intermixed. scottish and irish people are very similar imo and many tribes in northern ireland immigrated to scotland long ago. you can see the visual similarities

In the U.K. it’s called “the Celtic fringe”. Irish, welsh and Scottish people are all very similar linguistically. In recent times lots of Irish people moved to Scotland

aren't celtic languages dead for the most part? I've heard of some attempts to revive them but the vast majority of people seem to just speak english, or maybe gaelic as a second language

Free Scotland. It lacks recognition.

Lots of people (outside the British isles) often refer to the whole of the UK just as "England" which is presume is absurd for the Scotts.

kinda but people in the highlands of scotland mostly speak gaelic. there is a gaelic school in glasgow but for the most part English is our native language

Not as bad as I thought it would be tbh ngl. Decent amount of them got the flag right and most of them even knew where it was generally in the north of britain, most americans cant even point to china on a map though so these people were probably a bit above average.

it still surprised me that they were questioning it. Special relationship my ass lol when white americans especially dont know the flag of Scotland a big part of the UK and is on the UK flag as well.

Yeah tbh, i always get annoyed when i hear people call the whole place England, when Scotland had just as much to do with the UK as England had, but they are always thought to be just a slave nation to the english

True. UK also had the worst economic crash since 1707 this year. GDP droped by 10% and it will only get worse because of Brexit (which was caused by their superiority complex and nostalgia of the long gone British empire).

I hope Scotland goes independent and joins the EU.

Also Northern Ireland should just join Ireland.

dont want independence overall because Nicola Sturgeon is too pro European instead of nationalist. It should be called the Scottish European party. And never gonna happen anytime soon unfortunately i want to see a united Ireland but cant see it happening soon.
