Except American food has a reputation for all being processed/not real food. And what makes you fatter than slop.
Just look at avg life expectancy. Despite being first world it's pretty low compared to some other western countries, because of stress, an overall shitty society with shitty food.

HOWEVER the lifestyle you could argue is enviable. Office jobs where you just sit around, that might make you put on weight. or just being a neet slob.
But both of those lifestyles used to be way more chill and easier than they are now.
