Been curious to calculate this so decided to and post it here.
England is approximately 130,279 km²
It has a population of 18-24 of 5.3million
A population of 25-29 of 3.7m
Both of these = 9m
Half this for gender ratio for only males assuming a fair 50/50 ratio = 4.5million. Then to get the top 20% of these men, we get 900k.
Ok, so this means that there are 6.9 top 20% men per km in England no matter where you are.
Within 10 miles there are on average 117 top 20%. But since tinder uses a radius and not straight lines then…
78.54 is the area when the radius of a circle is 5 (i.e. 10 miles). So within a 10-mile area in all directions as tinder works then there statistically 541 top 20% men in every place you step in the UK and open your phone. So basically within every km you stand in the UK there are statistically 6.9 top 20% men and within every 10 miles of England in a straight line (any direction) there are 117 top 20% men.
This is remember accounting for anywhere in England, the competition will be much higher in cities etc and even though there will be less men in the countryside there will also be less women so it evens out.
Regardless, in England wherever you are just know that you are competing with 541 top 20% at any given time and any given place within 10 miles or 15 minutes drive (on average statistically).
If you go on average 40mph driving it takes just 30 minutes of driving to travel 20 miles. Therefore, within 30 minutes or 20 miles radius there are 1082 top 20% men.
I thought this was pretty wild considering a lot of the UK (England) is quite rural etc. and just goes to show in the UK at any location you are in you there 1082 top tier guys within 30 minutes.
