u brokecels prob dont gaf about this but wtv. I did this bc I eat it on a weekly basis, and wanted to analyse the potential nutritional impacts.

aight so ill start by identifying and addressing argument against the consumption:

"wagyu is unnatural"
This claim is formed bc of the high IMF fat content of the animal. people claim that this is due to a "unnatural diet" which is true. However, the marbling is mainly due to a specific gene mutation naturally developed by the cows. This was because, historically, they were used for long, slow labour. As you know, fat is the most optimal source of energy for low-mid intensity (up to 65ish% exertion) . As such, this led to storage of fat directly inside the muscle, instead of around it. (the cows were bred for stamina and endurance, not burst of power)

"wagyu is pure fat, with no nutrients"
althoug wagyu does have significantly higher fat content, it doesn't not lack nutrients. This misunderstanding is due to not distinguishing between intramuscular fat and subq fat. Subq fat is separate from the muscle. IMF fat is interwoven into the muscle fibres. there is still lean meat.

"wagyu is an obese cow"
again, the difference between IMF and subq fat. However, I agree that a normal cow ere to be fed the wagyu diet, they would be obese.

"ways has less vitamins"
as proven above, wagyu still has muscle meat, which provides the main vitamins and minerals beef is known for. In fact, wagyu has a sig nificnat benefit; due to the IMF, the absorption of fat soluble vitamins is increase significantly.

"omega ratio is sub optimal"
Obviously, any cow fed a non-natural diet will have a sub optimal omega ratio. The ideal ratio is within 1:1 and 1:4. Grass fed beef is the only beef that achieves this, grass fed wagyu included. However, when comparing grain fed wagyu to conveitonmal grain fed beef, we see sm surprising. Grained wagyu has a ratio of 1:9 -1:20, whereas conventional grain fed beef has a ratio of 1:15 - 1:24. So, in some cases, the ratio is actual better.

"its just saturated fat"
u guys prob dont care about this and still believe that sat fat is the magic test potion, but ill still address it. the fat in wagyu is not sat fat, but mono fat, the same fat found in olive oil.

Now ill identify the benefits

no hormones
less sat fat (minimise heart disease risk)
higher vitamin bioavailability
lower inflammation due to less stressful upbringing
beef
Higher CLA content (fat that metabolises easily, doesn't just get stored)
higher amino acid concentration

now ill talk about eating experience
in my case, wagyu halves the amount of (weight) of meat I can eat. 400-500 grams grass fed, down to 200-250 grams wagyu.

Also significantly higher in calories so can help if u have a fast metabolism.

can be too fatty, u will feel nauseous if u eat over 0.5x what you normally eat of normal beef

always pair it with something. If u eat it on its own u will be overwhelmed.

To combat the overly fatty taste or if u rlly dont feel like eating it but u have to (like at a dinner) I recommend eating it raw. The lower melting point leads to a rlly nice experience. And if ur high-inhib it actually carries lower risk for infection/parasites due to higher quality.
