In short this thread is about how your own antatomy sets the limit on how you can design a infra orbital implant and what size you can have.

The first limitation of infra orbital implant designing, is the infra orbital formen, obv you cant place directly over it. Because a lot of important nerves and blood vessels extend below it and comes out of it.

As we can see in the below pic the vessels and nerves extend below it, The reason you want to avoid it is because damaging or putting preasure on those with a implant can lead to fluid not being able to flush out easily. And this can lead to permanent problem with fluid retention. So you when you eat shit or do excerize you will have a hard time flushing out the fkuid and basically be perma bloated. So its very important to respect this aspect when designing a implant.

So in the below pic is basically the area thats viable to place a implant on, and ofc you cant place this big of a implant without doing multipiece implant so you basically need to decide a specific area to implant.

Also the blue area is marked because thats the path way of another blood vessel you want to avoid, not avoiding this can also lead to perma bloated face because of disturbance in the blood vessel pathway, i cant say enough how important this is. In the below pic you see that blood big blood vessel goes from nose to down to jaw, but yea you can stil place it below it. but it can still cause disturbance so be careful.

You also want to avoid the lowest border of the zygomatic bone since the ligaments goes there. and those you dont want to disturb to much since it is those ligaments that keeps the face from sinking and melting down.

And then there is a last pic that shows how your own idividual placement of the infra orbital foremen affect the area in which you can place the implant,

Okey, now to the reason why the area of possible implant placement matter, Everyone have heard of implant feathering, basically making the edges of implant smooth and not go from high to low projection very fast. And with a smaller area of placement, a well feathered bigger projection will be less possible.

So your own anatomy decides how big you can go no matter if you need it or not. So one can have a good base for implants is what i am trying to say which is a new concept on this site i guess. But often you dont need to go more projected then you anatomically limited implant surface area either way.

the photo below shows the feathering concept, it should be kinda self explainatory( the red is the implant on the green line surface)

Also yet again life isnt fair because people who need bigger design often have less avaible area to place the implant, so yes there is allways good and bad bases. Even in surgery there are limits.
