If lens distortion was that big a deal, you wouldn't be able to recognise anyone you know irl in their selfies if you saw them on Instagram for the first time or vice versa, but that doesn't happen, you immediately know and recognise it's them

If you're face looked THAT different and warped by "lens distortion" then you wouldn't be able to fucking recognise anyone you know irl if you found their insta or whatever, so it clearly doesn't change your face much at all

So if you look like shit in your selfies and you get very negative feedback from your selfies it stands to reason you look just as bad irl
