Aaron Donald is a 284 pound man that is literally 50 ibs heavier than Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. Despite this he doesn't really follow a ultra high protein diet. 245 pounds of protein is a lot lower than the recommended intake for someone his size. Actually carbs + fats make up the bulk of his diet for his diet as they are the protein sparring nutrients. Eating 5k calories would make anyone fat natty, but the point is protein intake is massively overstated to sell protein powder.

If this roided to the gills guy eats much less protein than recommend for his size, and still does fine makes you wonder doesn't it?

to maintain his 284 pound weight he must still be getting atleast more than 100g of protein with all the cals, the people who are blackpilled on being lean here eat between 1200 to 2000 calories they need enough protein for tissue and organs

I mentioned he eats 245 grams of protein, which for a guy who's 284 @ 10% body fat, that's pretty low for his size.

IMO this is not a good argument because youre cherry picking a giant for your example.

Your body doesn't use all of the protein you consume every day either way, theres diminshing returns depending on how much your body needs.

The general formula of 0.8-1.something grams per lb is still just a formula and is used because it works for most of the population. Your example is a professional who probably has every nutrient planned out for him by nutritionists.

Even then, eating half or 120 grams of protein per day would be good enough for most people.

Studies still show that there is an optimal range for muscle growth for each person. If you eat less protein you will still build muscle, just not as optimally.

The important part for low kcal diets is getting enough fat to not fuck your hormones. Protein is easy because it is filling.

Again, if youre building muscle, there is evidence that more is better up to a certain individual amount.

It just comes down to how much you want to optimize the effort you spent in the gym with optimal nutrition.

Sure, I could build muscle with 100-120 grams, but if im spending multiple hours a week in the gym, I don't want that effort go to waste.

too much protein spikes cortisol too much peat is now down to 50-60 g per day

Mediterranean diet mogs. It's way more sustainable than vegan and carnivore diet. Most people who do either will end up fucking themselves up in the following ways.

For vegans
  • B12 vitamin deficiency.
  • Lack of essential fatty acids to produce test.
  • Tooth decay due to too many carbs and not enough fat soluable vitamins these are vitamin a, e, k, and d and calcium.
  • Brittle bones due to being deficient in vitamin d and calcium.
  • Vitamin D deficiency.
These are the reasons people quit this diet.

As for carnivore, well.

  • Red meat is a well known carcinogen, has a ton of saturated fat and heme iron. This can easily give you insulin resistance, fucked up thyroid from too much iron.
  • Getting vitamin c is harder. Sure you can get it from liver but vitamin c is a water soluble vitamin and eating liver all the time is more likely to give you nafld or cirrhosis than muh carbs or sugar due to its extreme iron + vitamin a levels. Don't fall for the shit boosts your t meme.
  • Hard on your kidneys and liver too especially if you eat a ton of red meat. And heart if your predisposed to cholesterol issues.
  • Some people but not everyone cannot digest dairy products.

lol what? He’s eating around .9 g per lb of body weight, which is what has been recommended by sports science. He may also get away with less because of good bodybuilding genetics 😂

Bear in mind this guy is a genetic freak. MPMD did that video on that NFL player who lives off gummies and is jacked too, genetics plays a huge role on what you can and can't get away with in your diet

The general ballpark is something like 0.8grams per pound of lean mass, so he is way over that. Add to that every pro athlete is roiding. I don't understand the point to this thread.

Red meat is a well known carcinogen
On its on its not

South American countries have higher consumption of red meat then US yet less red meat related cancers, it's mainly because the farming and meat quality is much much higher.

A problem with high muscle meat consumption is that you'll get too much Zinc in relation to Copper, so to balance eat more organ meats which are high in Copper like Liver. Traditionally an animal was eaten nose to tail. This also includes more Collagenous parts which have anti-inflammatory anti-stress amino-acids like Glycine, Proline, Leucine and are low or non-existant in inflammatory amino-acids; muscle meat and organs have high inflammatory amino-acids like Trytophan (only known essential Amino-Acid to be a carcinogen), Methionine (restriction of this Amino-Acid increases life spans in experiments and this is well known, it's also thought that it's the mechanism behind calorie restriction supposedly being good for longevity, it's actually the resulted Methionine Restriction) etc. eating Collagen can balance those Amino-Acids and can actually repeat the effect on life span as Methionine Restriction in studies.
So just eat more Collagenous parts like Oxtail.

Meat is high in Phosphorus, too high Phosphorus in relation to Calcium is awful for health so consume some dairy. I don't know of any high meat consuming society which doesn't also consume high amounts of milk or lacto-fermentated products. Example: Mongols, Massai tribe, Nordics.

Even in Ancient Greece eating too much Ox was known to cause cancer. I think this is because they the nobility didn't consume it "traditionally" meaning eating it with the more thrown away parts like Liver, tougher cuts of meat or soups and neglecting dairy.

Beef/calf, venison, lamb, sheep, goat mogs birds to hell and back.
Btw if u can't tolerate milk eat lacto-fermentated products and ground eggshell.
