to be self-sufficient you must be unconditioned,as nothing can cause you to exist,something unconditioned has no qualities thus is completely inert.

the moment a unconditioned or thus self sufficient thing becomes a cause,if it could exist,it would be conditioned because it is dependant on it's effects to be a cause,and it is the condition of it's effects.
