The bullying. Yeah, yeah, ignore them, but a lot can't. For a lot of people, the Internet is their only social interactions, good or bad. Imagine being bullied at school through insults constantly, or even at work since a ton of adults are just fully grown teens. Now imagine coming online and getting that treatment a thousand fold. You can at least try and beat someone in real life, online you just have to take it. And the anonymous nature of the Internet emboldens the trolls and bullies to insane extents. I made a thread about this awhile ago, but the Internet also makes people treat real life like their online interactions. So some troll gets emboldened and starts making threats and insults to people in public which I think is part of the reason so many arguments now turn into flat out assaults or murder.
