Aw man, that sucks about those twenty peasants. I read about how that Salvadoran president practically eradicated cartels in his country. Seems very impressive, considering he’s a young guy and all that. But then again, El Salvador is a small country compared to the other countries in the Spanish-speaking world. It wouldn’t work in other countries because the cartels there have a deep presence, even with connections to the state. I guess I can understand, it’s a mutual beneficial relationship: they can make billions off of it. Both the state and the cartels.

Plus they go beyond what’s necessary: they even kill family members, whether that’s parents, children, nephews, et cetera. There are some drug-dealing groups here in the Netherlands but they haven’t really gone that way yet. Only in the most popular cases, where they killed a key witness/informant’s brother (who himself had nothing to do with that business), as well as a famous crime-journalist, and a lawyer who was presenting the key informant of the same case. So, three deaths. But still, they met a much nicer fate compared to the ones in the Americas, at least they don’t get CHAINSAW’d.
