This thread is primarily following up on my other bonesmashing thread, as I had plenty of questions regarding hammering and I understand I did not make it as clear as possible.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Q: Does bonesmashing work?
A: Yes it does
─
Q: What should I use? Hammer? Knuckles? Massage gun?
A: Me personally, I've found the best results with knuckles, although--I've tried hammering prior. Results were too slow for me (subjective)
─
Q: How do I pick which tool I should use?
A: Any works, it depends on how old you are tbf, if you're under 16 I'd probably go with a massage gun
─
Q: Which massage gun works?
A: Literally any fucking massage gun works, just make sure to use a bullet head attachment to concentrate as much force in a singular area as much as possible
─
Q: What's the difference between massage gun and hammer/knuckles?
A: If you're under 18, massage gun promotes periosteal bone formation (actual bone), while hammering promotes subperiosteal hematomas, which are blood coagulations in a certain area. Results may vary
─
Q: What if I'm over 18 and use a massage gun?
A: You'd likely just be promoting more mineral density rather than actual bone projection, although that also varies (to an extent)
─
Q: What should my regimen be as someone that uses a hammer/knuckles?
A: Personally, I do every other day for 2-5 minutes on each area (zygos, brow ridge, chin), HOWEVER, other individuals have found success with hammering for numbered reps/sets (3 sets of 100 hits twice a day) like SpectrumAesthetics, the premise here is just testing which frequency works best for you
─
Q: When should I stop?
A: After you get your desired amount of reps/time in, although if you're confused on how long exactly you need to do it--try using your head mate I don't have much else to say. If it hurts really really bad and you feel like you're damaging a nerve, you should probably stop
─
Q: Do I need to go on hiatuses while hammering with my knuckles/hammer?
A: No, you don't need to go on long breaks, unlike using a massage gun. Osteoblasts (bone-forming cells) desensitize on a cellular level after a while of repeated dynamic pressure. You don't necessarily promote osteogenesis while using your knuckles/hammer
─
Q: What should my routine be like with a massage gun?
A: 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 2-4 minutes of concentrated pressure in each area once a day/every other day (dependent on you), optionally cover with a cloth to avoid skin damage
─
Q: Should I run any ancillaries?
A: If you wish. Aspirin, cilostazol, pentoxyfilines and biphosphonates work just fine. Me personally I took a regular dose of cilo everyday for a while, however you should probably do more research on this before consuming anything that thins blood
