DISCLAIMER : this thread is talking about antegonial notch , caused by angularity and not by downward growth...

I beleive that Antegonial notch is ideal and a Dimorphic trait for a simple reason..
When the ramus grow , once it goes past the mandibular body , i believe that it can create the Notch

Antegonial Notch is ideal when we are talking about jaw aesthetic because it is insanely striking and look better than a straight Jaw..
Straight mandible also look very good and is clearly better than an "downard grown" antegonial notch...
Straight Mandible also look better from the side , but according to the majority of people here "Side Profile is cope, front and 3/4 is all that matters"
Here is what i believe :

Straight mandible 130 gonial angle>>Antegonial notch 130 gonial angle
Antegonial notch 110 gonial angle>>Straight mandible 110 Gonial Angle
Jeremy Meeks , Robert pattinson , Jon-erik Hexum , Ian Somerhalder , Brad Pitt , Sam Dezz , Etc....

Small Recap :
if you have a low gonial angle, good ramus and outward Gonions, Antegonial Notch is not a failo because it is a dimorphic trait and looks good (for front profile only)...

Explain why it would make the front better. For side profile it's not even a comparison, straight one looks way better

Straight one does look way better from the side , but from the front ,Antegonial notch enhances the flared look by making the Bigonial look even wider., and most of the guys with top tier jaws have an antegonial notch because its extremely rare to have a Straight asf mandible with flared gonions and low gonial angle.... Masseteric development and ramus growth is what create a "good" notch naturally....

With a straight Mandible , you are safe...
Antegonial notch looks very good on top tier jaws , but it looks horrible on an average jaw , Straight mandible is better in most cases tbh , i realise now that my thread was pure water ngl, Antegonial notch looks good only with a god tier jaw..

every antegonial notch is caused by downward growth

what needs to be understood is that a certain amount of down-growth is actually preferred

True,
I have a notch , and assymetrical ramus and gonial angle , and my side profile is subhuman on the higher gonial angle profile while it looks good on the other one...
I would choose straight mandible if i could tbh.. Antegonial notch make the chin look recessed and the mandible looks weird from the side.. since i have inward gonions the antegonial notch has 0 effect on my front profile and you cant fix it , even with implants...

Shit chin is normal with antegonial notch.. since it is caused by downward growth..
My zygos are indeed high set tho...
I think Antegonial notch can be slightly better only if you already have a chad jaw, otherwise straight mog every single time..

is it downward grown in a dolio kinda way, brutal. and yea a lot of it can be countured w more facial depth, contour, and mandible width but its fucking hard to actualize.

Wtf is downward growth antegonial arch

Wtf is downward growth antegonial arch
Antegonial notch is basically caused by downward growth..
For me "Downward grown antegonial notch" is a notch on a normie jaw, high gonial angle downward grown , wich looks horrible..
But antegonial notch can look very good on jaws with outward gonions , low gonial angle and tall ramus

I have the first one jfl.

If you are still young enough to make your gonial angle low , it can look good.. thats what i did and my jaw from the side looks like sam dezz with a shorter ramus , thats not ideal but mog 90% of all the normies...

How did you make your gonial angle lower? My Ramus is insanely short. And I have terrible neck insertions which causes my jaw to look recessed

Bone remodelling of the ramus through masseter hypertrophy, basically chewing very hard , it also lenghten the masseter , an implant cannot do that.. its goated

So just chew.
I have uneven masseters so I'm chewing mostly with the smaller side atm with mastic gum

Depends sometimes it can look worse

Antegonial Notch can create Mogger trapezoid jaw
1697399752099

Or can make you look like Rat
1697399800782

Depends on rest of face

Straight Mandible is ideal imo

I completely agree with you , i think it only look better when you have a low gonial angle with square chin (Pattinson for example) but when you dont have a mogger jaw to begin with , Straight Mandible looks better 99% of the time

There are multiple reasons , the first is good gonions.. but antegonial notch can enhance that flared look

Sadly yes , its a mogger trait if you have square chin and low gonial angle ,
Straight mandible mogs otherwise

my chin is square but my gonial angle is high so its a 1/1

what can change gonial angle isnt it genetic?
Proper breathing & chewing hard food during childhood can influence your gonial angle but capped by genetics, Doing opposite however can make it worse

90-100 degree angle notch 110-115 degree angle mandibular body.

from what I've read down-growth is fine as long as it's on the mandibular body and not the gonion, because if it's on the ramus itself it negatively impacts the structural integrity of your jaw and lowers your bite force.

anatomically speaking barrett is severely recessed because his ramus is near non existent for a male.

Retarded dogshit thread. Just because some high-PSL moggers have a trait doesn’t mean it’s ideal.

Antegonial notch is not a flaw though.
It can look really good in of in itself.

Completely agree , Pattinson = 100 degree gonial angle
Cavill = 115 degree gonial angle
Yet , Cavill look far more square than Pattinson , and they both have the ideal jaw/chin...
I also have an antegonial notch , my gonial angle is 117 degree , and it doesnt even look square , just normie...
1697459566626

Brad pitt with cavill mandible development would look square asf for example

Honestly , i completely understand when someone disagree , on a biological and normal point of view , straight mogs tbh , and from the side it mogs very hard... I think its just personal opinion at this point

His entire career is based on his lower third.. Tayler mogged him in Twilight ngl..
but pattinson won the war in the end and ended up being "The Batman"...

literally makes zero impact on perceived attractiveness

You realise that Barrett already has a slight antegonial notch ?
Having an antegonial notch allows you to get lower gonial angle while not having an overly square face.. it even makes your chin slightly downward grown allowing for more chin height.. you can see it on Robert Pattinson for example..
Btw , Every single human on earth has a antegonial Notch to a degree , because its where a branch of the external carotid artery sits...

yeah i know barret got it, but a prominent one looks good to me

like the image in op

notching can actually be caused by muscles and bite force. doesnt necessarily indicate downward growth.
