I used to have this, but gain 25 kg, lose muscle mass and its gone wtfDISCLAIMER : this thread is talking about antegonial notch , caused by angularity and not by downward growth...
I beleive that Antegonial notch is ideal and a Dimorphic trait for a simple reason..
When the ramus grow , once it goes past the mandibular body , i believe that it can create the Notch

Antegonial Notch is ideal when we are talking about jaw aesthetic because it is insanely striking and look better than a straight Jaw..
Straight mandible also look very good and is clearly better than an "downard grown" antegonial notch...
Straight Mandible also look better from the side , but according to the majority of people here "Side Profile is cope, front and 3/4 is all that matters"
Here is what i believe :
Straight mandible 130 gonial angle>>Antegonial notch 130 gonial angle
Antegonial notch 110 gonial angle>>Straight mandible 110 Gonial Angle
Jeremy Meeks , Robert pattinson , Jon-erik Hexum , Ian Somerhalder , Brad Pitt , Sam Dezz , Etc....
Small Recap :
if you have a low gonial angle, good ramus and outward Gonions, Antegonial Notch is not a failo because it is a dimorphic trait and looks good (for front profile only)...
