Soylent meal replacementBest food for anti aging?
Wide range of vegetables, some nuts, some (limited) fruit, eggs, chicken, and liver, and some (limited) cheese.Best food for anti aging?
You seem quite knowledgeable about diet. Would you mind me asking you a question?Wide range of vegetables, some nuts, some (limited) fruit, eggs, chicken, and liver, and some (limited) cheese.
It's worked for me, and many celebrities that age well.
Legumes Aren’t even great for uYou seem quite knowledgeable about diet. Would you mind me asking you a question?
What is a food that surprised you or something that most people aren’t aware of that is bad for aging/general health?
I've read a few books, and a fair amount of studies. I don't know everything. You seem quite knowledgeable about diet. Would you mind me asking you a question?
Yes, there's a number of those. What is a food that surprised you or something that most people aren’t aware of that is bad for aging/general health?
Sincerely, thank you. I appreciate itI've read a few books, and a fair amount of studies. I don't know everything.
Yes, there's a number of those.
Bread (And anything containing Gluten) (Bad)
Whole Grain bread. Anything that has Gluten has Gliadin. Gliadin shreds the intestinal walls causing intestinal leakage. Food particles leak into the blood stream and cause body wide inflamation as the immune system rushes to clean it up. This damages the entire body, including the brain, which accelerates aging. The holes created from eating grains last more than a one week. So anything else you eat during that time, the food particles get pushed through the holes in your intestent, making the holes bigger and causing the same problem, even if you don't continue to eat grains. This occurs in 100% of the subjects tested, it's not genetic.
So TLDR, Gluten bad. This was because of a genetic modification made to wheat about a hundred years ago, that doubled crop yeilds (and eliminated much of starvation world wide). So it's good because less people are starving but not optimal for aging. There is bread that you can get that doesn't have this genetic modification, but I think it's rare, you have to look specifically for it online.
Fruit Juice (Bad)
Even if you make the fruit juice yourself, you'll likely not have the pulp (all that physical stuff left over in the orange). The chunky pulp is the fiber. Fiber slows down the speed of digestion of fruit, meaning your blood sugar doesn't spike nearly as much.
A spike in blood sugar, leads to blood sugar building up faster than it's being used, which means the sugar accumulates in the blood vessels. This leads to the sugar getting pushed into the cell walls and organs forming advanced glycation end products, which are gunk that clogs of the machinery of the human body and a significant contributing factor to human aging.
Fruits and Vegetables (Good)
Many people here think fruits and vegetables are harmful because plants have toxins to protect themselves. Those toxins are primarily for fighting off insects, and some very small animals. Humans have a liver that can learn to filter them out, while getting all of the benefits from vegetables.
The liver has different defences against different toxins from different types of vegtables. This is why you want to eat salads (a wide range of vegtables) and not one specific vegtable all day long, other wise you will overwhelm in the liver and wind up hospitalized or dead. But if you eat salads, and ease into eating vegetables (train your liver to filter out those toxins) then you'll get all of the benefits of vegetables with none of the serious side effects, and vegetables become very anti-aging.
Red Meat (Bad)
Leads to arterial plaque formation which eventually kills you. The carnivor's will hold up examples like the native eskimo's which were once believed by the scientific community to be very healthy eating only meat. We now know this to be false. We have frozen eskimos from hundreds of years ago that have arterial plaque damage, and the only thing they could eat that far up north is meat.
Every study where you look at the veins of tribal people who only eat meat shows arterial plaque damage. It's less clear how much arterial plaque damage other types of meats cause. Eggs may not cause this damage, but red meat definitely does. The protein fibers are different in red meat.
Also processed meat like hot dogs is very bad because it has carnages. The general scientific consensus is that some meat is optimal in moderation, but not red meat.
Exercise (Good)
Exercise has hermetic anti-aging effects when you get your heart rate up for about 20 minutes a day, or move throughout your day. Too much is bad, but many people here are wrong to assume exercise is bad.
These are the common misconceptions people are wrong about. My diet's not perfect, but I kindof know what it should be.
