Wondering if there are any Bulgarians here. I am in Germany right now and hating every single second I am spending here...the leftists are taxing the shit out of me while treating me as a criminal and a nazi for being conservative and unvaccinated. I was wondering if Bulgaria is a good place for a guy that can make money as a freelancer online (so the low cost of living and low taxes are a big plus for me while the low wages don't matter).

I was thinking about moving to Varna and rent a small apartment close to the beach.

To be more specific I am wondering about three things:
1. Do you think taxes and costs of living will go up dramatically within the next 2-5 years?
2. Do you think a leftist government is likely to be elected and make day trading illegal or tax it to death any time soon (2-5 years)?
3. How safe is Varna?

why varna?
I dont think it has many opportunities. Sofia is better IMO, and varna is dead when its not summer
There is a chance that a liberal, pro EU government can get elected but i doubt a leftist one will get enough support
Pretty much everywhere is perfectly safe

No I meant is there a leftist government likely to be elected in Bulgaria and are they talking about making day trading illegal? In Germany daytrading already is pretty much illegal. The commies are taxing you bankrupt if you try.

Ok thanks sounds good. I will be working online so opportunities are not that important. I just like the idea of having a beach nearby and the city and nature look good on Youtube.

Well that is something to consider. I guess I will be travelling to both cities first to get an idea.

if you stay in the center, sofia is a great city with great architecture and tons of things to do, but its a bit more expensive there
if you live in the outer parts of the city like me, its full of commie blocks and not very pleasant
although its the same for varna, its full of commie blocks aswell

Yeah I just want to spend as little as possible so I can use the money to trade and as a backup in case things go wrong.

I am not bulgarian but go to the burgas area you can rent a nice small flat near the beach for 200€. Taxes are 10% as far as I know and don't use bulgarian banks bulgaria is a corrupt country but safe enough.
I might flee to bulgaria too.

Yeah I'll be keeping most of my cash in Switzerland or the UK. The EU is not trustworthy at all but Bulgaria still seems to be reasonable at least for now.
