I get a lot of dandruff on my head and when I mess with my hair huge flakes start coming out. My scalp also gets really itchy when it’s hot outside. I don’t want a girl to mess with my hair only for her to see all the dandruff fall out.

Peppermint oil in shampoo reduces my dandruffs. I don't know why.

head and shoulders made it worse for you because it's shampoo... which dries your scalp out... which makes even more dandruff. Have you instead tried cowashing? Lots of people do not need shampoo but use it anyways. Conditioners by themselves are very capable of cleaning your hair without drying your scalp out.
