in what world its true, key to a good gut health its absorbtion of good quality food + doing so on a regular basis, fasting is insanely good when done 24 1x a week + 10-12 regulary, but if you will eat shit and live on a pills it will fuck up your gains and then your looks too

I agree on intermittent fasting and pills.
The key factors here are gut barier integrity and metabolic rest.
I believe that not eating can be more beneficial than relying on quality food, because fasting allows intestinal repair through autophagy.

Autophagy isn’t a magic override of physiolog though
Fasting supports repair, it doesnt replace substrate. Gut barrier integrity is built from amino acids, micronutrients, etc - you dont regenerate enterocytes out of air - Intermittent fasting improves insulin sensitivity and reduces inflammatory load(as a fact, and what I belive in) But prolonged or frequent fasting without high quality refeeding degrades absorption capacity long-term
Sinclair talks about hormetic stress, not starvation as a baseline, so no quality input - no quality tissue - worse gains and worse looks, regardless of how “rested” your metabolism is
So diet is still key in my opion

Fully agree that refeeding is essential; the point is that periods of non feeding actively improve gut barrier. Definitely not supporting starving

I fast at least 20 hours everyday eating quality foods as one meal a day
I have zero digestive issues or skin problems

Very locked in diet; the effect of fasting on skin quality is scientifically proven too. Doing three only water days each month can also promote autophagy and longevity
