Don't get crest ones then. Hydrogen peroxide is hydrogen peroxide, if you can get ones which cut to fit they're the best. $40 might be expensive for you, but if you have straight teeth and your teeth are A3 or worse, then it's absolutely worth the money. Easy way to ascend within 2 weeks.
