You put left leg in front of right leg and when the left leg is in front of right leg, you put the right leg in front of left leg. Now repeat this at 180 rpm. Also you need to breath together as you put the legs in front of each other. I do 1 revolution - breath in. 1 revolution breathe out, but you can have different leg switching/breathing cycles.
Also with arms you counter the forces of the legs, in completely opposite cycle. I.e. left leg in front, right arm in front and vice versa.
AMA I've ran half a marathon.
If your lungs are boiling/burning - you're very out of shape and good thing you've started. It will go away soon.

Look up proper running form before you fuck your knees up. Work your way up gradually. Couch to 5k is a legit beginner program.

Don't worry about distance, just run at a pace that you wouldn't be able to talk and hold that pace for as long as you can, if you can't keep going slow down but don't stop.
