I'm studying to go to try my chance at an Ivy, I have decent grades and with a good sat, act and a nice essay I might get in . But it's a tough grind and sometimes I don't see the end of the tunnel, has anybody gotten into an ivy league uni or just a good uni in general?

Didn't get into an Ivy League but I did get into a top university here in Italy or generally in Europe, I guess the equivalent of an Ivy. Continue what you're doing, keep the grades perfect, the SAT and essay BUT you should know a couple of things:

1. You can have the best grades, essay and all that bullshit, but if you're not a promising/interesting applicants you're not getting in lol. Ivy Leagues thirst over applicants who seem like they're promising, ever wondered why all the most successful and rich people go to Ivy Leagues? Aside from the fact that the environment itself allows gives you better opportunities for success, it's because these colleges only accept people with good future prospects. If you want the best odds you better start working on creating the next Facebook or Amazon, I mean even if the thing fails, just make them think you have something going on
2. You do not go to an Ivy League for the education. You go there for the prestige and the connections. Of course yeah, get your degree, get good grades, but your absolutely priority should be networking with rich kids and people smarter than you, that's the whole point.

As Archbishop of evil Zeekie has said, Ivies are made for connections especially with the richer kids they're op in this job market. If you're attractive and interesting enough you can easily make connections with the kids of billionaires .
