Im not professional, but at least here in Favelazil the best way to get a job is getting interships during college so you wont graduate without any experience

I also dont have any tips to get better besides studying till you learn enough to get a internship and then working and learning by default

thats how it was for me tbh, but im thinking about leaving the field

- do a project that involves a database layer, backend and front end
- grind leetcode until you can do medium level difficulty questions without having to cheat/look up the solution, hard is too much and most places don't expect you to be able to solve a hard one (sad that the state of the industry is this way since I feel asking knowledge about a framework or design patterns is much more indicative of ability to navigate code in enterprise than practicing this shit for a few months and regurgitating it on an interview)
- spam applications to places not just in your city/state but also other places (5-10 applications a day is probably good)
As for getting good, that happens with work experience/personal projects tbh, besides those you should read/get familiar with everything inside of "Design Patterns" by gang of 4... other than that maybe a best practices book.

Also if you are receiving absolutely no replies, just lie on your resume that you did a 4 month internship in europe (anywhere overseas or outside of the USA (assuming you're here)) or someshit and have the reference be a friend saying it's a failed startup (you can elab by saying you got to learn stuff in it) a lot of employers are utter animals and don't consider people without some work experience.

I learned programming in high-school, our class was specialized in computers, in many ways learning a programming language is just like learning a foreign language, it's best to start as early as possible, since childhood preferably and practice it every day, after a few years you just start writing code without even thinking about it, just like when you become fluent in a language.

How good are you in math?

Usually being good at math correlates with competence in coding/programming

yeah, I am also trying to get back to web dev now for the 100th time. you're probably in what they call tutorial hell, you keep learning without getting close to a job.

Since you know js, learn React (codecademy, freecodecamp) since all companies use some sort of framework and react is the most popular. Do this while trying to learn more about js (intermediate - advanced).

You have to do as many projects as you can. visit freecodecamp and do the front end projects there.

Try to do at least two hours of learning everyday, or almost every day, taking more than one day off in a row is counterproductive in my opinion while you still learning.

Incredibly oversatured field, I really don't get why anybody would want to enter it.

Depends on location, anyway most field are getting saturated now even in STEM

At the jr level it's becoming quite saturated ngl, but after a year or two of experience you can get a job just about anywhere, weird how that works.

Wanna link up and talk more? How is your progress in web dev?

Not good but did lots of math in highschool, was among the worst in class jfl with very rare good grades. I hated math and i hate it today

frontend doesnt require that much math i think

Unironically, learn quantum programming. In 3 years it will be a thing.

The way I started was pretty straight forward and I don't even program alot but when I do it usually goes pretty easy due to understanding patterns and remembering them.

Honestly just look for a project like building a calculator in python and work on it while looking for the documentation and using Google. There's no secret to learning coding, just start with the basics until you have an understanding of how coding works. It's just practice and doing projects and understanding things like functions etc but then again that's all dependent on what you want to code for.

I was close to getting a job a couple years back, but I think I was too wierd for the place I interned plus I kind of laughed at the boss once and I think he saw that. Have to relearn js now, since they have changed it, but this time I am doing it with react instead of jQuery. You can dm me if you want to know more details or if you serious about linking up.
