If some patients that get CBCT Scan show not just recessed jaws but also a small/deformed jaw joint although they don't experience any TMJ/pain/popping and clicking sounds at the time, will getting a jaw surgery with big movements could aggravate the small jaw joint and and develop a full blown TMJ/pain/popping and clicking sounds post op? Specifically are there any studies that measure and analyze this data? Does anyone personally has experience with something like that?
