So basically I'm 16,5 y.o and I've got an underbite also my palate is only 31 mm currently I'm planning on getting an mse but i saw that even if I'm jutting my mandible still seems recessed and it only looks normal if i push my lower teeth above my upper teeth, and I'm just curious should i get mse or fme and also should get a facial mask so after i could get a Herbst appliance because rn it seems like although i have an underbite it's not enough for my jaw to stand in a proper position

I mean in case of forward growth its not so recessed just normal but it's just so narrow

iirc Herbst is for mandibular recession so I wouldn't get it just because of an underbite, I think that MSE is your best option but I'm really not sure

Yeah I'm just thinking on getting an mse and after that herbst but just as i said my mandible seems non recessed only if i push my lower jaw way forward above upper like if it was an underbite so I'm just thinking should i get a facial mask with the mse so the herbst would have maximal possible efficiency on me?

it may help a bit if he's lucky if I were him I'd go to an Orthodontist and see what can be done for his specific case, but yea good point

Yeah i went to check my airways yesterday they said I've got a problem with a cartilage and we should remove but also I've asked if the main reason is my overbite and the doctor said yes that probably it's the main reason why I'm breathing through my mouth during sleep

It’s herbst but we don’t know if u r lucky to have a great result using it
