See rock isn't just one genre, there are multiple genres of it.

1. Opeth(dark mysterious rock)
3. Pink floyd(calm with deep meaning)
5.Artic Monkeys(lyrical based rock)
7. SOund garden(If you like nirvana)
8. Weezer

This is what I'd recomend starting off with, but you gotta work your way through, it's like wine.
