Anybody has a rhino and after that a nasal voice?

6 weeks ago I had a rhino and my voice us still very nasaly... I have some swelling but most of it is gone.

Anyone has the same experience?

I lived my voice before that. I read only it can last for months. I hope it will come back soon.

I doubt that only after six weeks from your initial surgery that all the swelling has subdued. Residual swelling of the nasal cartilage is quite an arduous and slow process of elimination. It can take up to one year before the nasal bones and cartilage are entirely healed.

The edema that occurs following a rhinoplasty, as well as the remnants of crusts of blood and mucus that remain in the nose after an operation, are responsible for creating a nasally voice.

As the edema starts to dissipate, the nasal airways will open - which will see a lessening of a nasally voice. This can take three to six months to occur.

It's totally normal.
