Septoplasty does not improve asymmetry. They literally cut the septum in the middle, straighten it, and saw it back together. Has minimal effect on the rest of the nose if any at all.

Yes! but I think you're confused about what a septoplasty is.

A septoplasty is an entirely internal operation = there is no cosmetic change.

It will 1000% help your breathing and cure your night cough (post nasal drip) if you have it.

If your assymetry is caused by septum deviation in the middle, shouldn't it help??? My only cause for assymetry is the fact that my septum is completely bent to my right side, and it makes my nose look collapsed on the left. I see many great septoplasty results online where this same phenomenom gets cured.

Almost everyone that does rhynoplasty also does septoplasty
first because it as rhyno usually thin the nose, surgeon wants to make sure you wont have breathing problems later
second because most people has somewhat deviated septo
third because many times they use cartylage removed from septo to use it in rhyno
finally, because as you are already doing rhyno doing septoplasty will be much easier, so just take advantage

For the same reason as last one, if you will do septoplasty take advantage of that and do rhyno together, unless your nose is already very good

Septoplasy can subtly influence the appearnace of the actual nose depeding on the level of asymmetry

Bro I am getting a septo tomorrow. Did you do the surgery?
Yep, I had a septoplasty + turbinate reductrion. Look at my most recent comment - I showed a before and after unrelated to my nose in relation to eyebrows - there is pretty much no change maybe *maybe* a tiny bit straighter but for all practical purposes no change in smv lol. I had a swollen nose for two-three weeks.

Make sure you get shit loads of nose gauze/bandages to go across your nose cause it will be consistently running for the first 4-5 days after the surgery.

Can you do septo then rhyno latter on?

They reduced my turbinates so I guess it did make my nose a bit slimmer. Difficult to tell because I was in my teens and I was still growing then
Does the reduction or turbinates is done in every septo or is it juste in you're case?

I am so happy i got my septoplasty. My breathing isnt perfect, but its so, so much better.

And yes they put stents, really uncomfortable, very relieving when theyre out though. But when they were pulling them out it felt like a blade was being pulled from my nose

painful for how long?
did u have any pain meds?
what was painful about it?

fuark bhai im scared 😢😢
1 week then everything became fine. But it was still worth it.

Yes I used alot of diclonefac if thats the right name and paracetamol. It's a must have or you'll literally go crazy and wont sleep. You also need to mouth breathe for like 1/2 weeks straight.

What was painful about it was that if you didnt take the meds or too late it literally felt like someone smashed your nose with a sledge hammer, and I do kickboxing, I know what it's like to get hit in the nose, this was 100x worse.

But be afraid not, after 2 weeks you will breathe like never before and it will change your life in every aspect. My cardio is better, my sleep is better, I never have a stuffy nose, my nose even looks straighter. I would go through it again anytime, if it means better breathing.
