ED has been in turmoil ever since Girlvinyl left in 2011. After that happened, it was very unorganized at first because one person owned the domain (Ryan Cleary), another person owned the servers, another person owned the forum (Zaiger), etc. Now, Ryan Cleary was a member of a hacking group called LulzSec and he would regularly dox, harass and DDOS people, and one of them happened to be 4chon.net. The whole beef between ED and 4chon started when Steedick.jpg got uploaded to the wiki, which enraged Steesatsu so much that the ED staff refused to delete it despite his impotent demands, even after they offered him a deal he refused to comply. Eventually, Cleary DDOS'd DreamHost costing 4chon's owner Savetheinternet $150 in server bills, so he retaliated by hacking the forum after figuring out an insecure password Zaiger had set to "niggers1" before leaking their email addresses on Pastebin under the pseudonym "P.F." before later being doxed himself. Cleary would later get arrested for hacking and child porn charges in the UK.

The second bout of trouble started that same year when Zaiger assumed control over the whole site. He would progressively run the website into the ground for the next 6 or 7 years before he got ousted after trying to sell the website out and got caught in the process of doing it.

During Zaiger's reign a similar incident happened due to his own stupidity and that was in 2014 when ED's arch nemesis Daniel Brandt jacked the domain. How this occurred was Zaiger, wanting to deflect any negative attention the site might bring him and thinking he was funny, decided to register the .es domain under his name, and upon finding out, he simply called up their web host and shut the domain down.

After Zaiger left, ED wasn't yet finished getting raped, because then you had SeeBeen and ConradRock (now v&) who nuked all back-ups they had of the website, resulting in countless files and articles being scrubbed from the wiki and the whole forum being reset from scratch. After they left, yet another person took over and that was Jacob Stellmach, owner of Onionland search, which is a Darknet search engine that has lots of kiddy porn links on it, and he previously got outed on the forum as a pedo and left before returning later under a different name and somehow gained control over the website which he planned on selling to his Tor buddies and tried entrapping ED's Discord king into a criminal conspiracy. Under his 8 month reign, the site experienced constant downtime.

As for now, the website remains up at encyclopediadramatica.online. It has no owner as of the last time I checked.
