Well firstly we all knew he posted incessantly about this Tik tok woman that was his avi and he made comments about "I think about rape and murder 24/7" and also how he wanted to "murder and rape" this tik tok woman. Firstly obviously these are wrong.
these messages were seen as threats and he got a stalker charge.
But how was manletmachine caught?
written in bold and quotes is what an article I can't link states:
"Police were initially alerted last June after the complaint, an active TikTok user, became aware that sexual fantasies about her had allegedly been posted on a men’s self-improvement website." Ok so Niamharina herself made a complaint to police so that's why they tried to investigate.
"the woman provided police with screenshots of a series of messages on the forum allegedly linked to manlet, the court heard". She showed proof he was harassing her so police took notice.
"At that stage the investigation was closed due to issues with identifying any perpetrator."
This is where things get interesting the police couldn't have done anything because they didn't know manletmachines identity but why? Obviously if law enforcement asked moderators his iP because they are concerned. they could have found out way sooner and then Niamharina wouldn't have needed to pretend to get close to him and found out his identity herself.
So there are a few theories here:
one moderators got contacted by law enforcement and gave his entire post history so it would have been easier for them to find messages incriminating him. Two moderators refused to comply and police are going off posts they themselves found and the ones Niamharina showed.
The big question is when First contacted by Niamharina did the police then message .org mods and ask for more details? Or did they not. This is a big deal because if .org moderation is working with law enforcement which does seem likely then local police (especially in europe) can be given users data and be arrested for there "misogynistic threatening messages" they have posted.

This is stupid if given a lawyer she would have advised him to stay silent and give a no comment, but it appears he thought he could talk his way out of it and so incriminate himself further.

so he continues to talk without a lawyer and says he just wanted to "piss her off". Whats wrong with this message is the fact he admits that he wanted to make her annoyed or uncomfortable so his thoughts behind what he posted weren't a joke and were malicious.
Now who is this guy from Lithuania mentioned?
His identity will be easily found if u check manletmachines post history and check who he consistently tags and who consistently reps and replies to his comments about this tik tok woman. Also they most likely had conversations so if a mod checked them they'd probably know also mods know ips so they can check all the Lithuanian ones they have and found out.
Manletmachines lawyer:

Firstly it's so fucking ironic the man who's sent thousands of messages hating woman is getting represented by a woman AHAHAHAHA. Anyways, this is maybe bad. Firstly, the woman lawyer could secretly try and get my nigga a longer jail sentence as she simply doesn't like his views. She could do this by presenting a sloppy defence case and thus he'll get fucked more. Hopefully, she could just give him a good defense and defend him well regardless of what he's said and hopefully he won't be charged with anything (very unlikely).
So the defense the lawyer gave was basically it was a joke guys: Ms lawyer submitted: “He says it was done in a poor attempt at humour, there was no attempted threat.” this is a weak fucking defence. other more viable defences could have been.

Deputy District (female judge) ruled: “The real concerns relate to the potential for re-offending and interference with the witness.”
It looks bad he was refused bail so the judge thinks he's a threat. If seen this way he'll get many years behind bars as they don't want a threat to safety outside. Also what really fucked this guy over was obviously the rape and murder threats but mainly taking a picture outside her home. When you go out of ur way and take a picture outside her house you are showing that you are capable of going out of your way to cause harm and potentially this could lead to him causing harm to Niamharina.
How other users can avoid arrest:
Firstly don't be like manletmachine don't incessantly post tik toks of women in your local area and make rape or murder comments on them. Don't then visit her house and take a pic. Also as for opsec what you would want to do is not have a apple as the uk government has a backdoor for all apple devices. So don't use apple. even though its against the rules you could (not that I recommend it because it breaks the rules) login with cafe WiFi far away from your actual home and use a encrypted email like proton. So they can't use ur email address to find your address.
The ultimate option to protect yourself (again I don't support this) you could ask someone from a third world country or one with lax laws like Brazil and Iraq to make you an account so there ip and WiFi will be in the websites history then ask them to give u the details for the login to his account and use it how you want. However this website logs every ip you have when u login so you'd have to also use a vpn before u login everytime. This is high effort but probably the best way.
Finally stay safe guys don't post weird messages like rape or murder and never attempt to harass anybody. And manlet machine we wish u the best.
