it'll take years tbh. If your diet has been shit all along, then it'll take a while to purge all the garbage in your body. It also depends on your sabeceous glands. Fin and Dut users will benefit more from skincare. and megadosing oral vit c is pretty much mandatory. Popular research will tell you topical is better than oral supplementation but i've discovered that isn't true

There's also the skin barrier you must consider. Most people use too many topical products. Topical products are just a bandaid for a vitamin deficient diet. Wrecking your skin barrier with 2-3 actives is pretty stupid

Took 2 years of proper skincare

I still have this crater on my nose but it's not noticeable, other than that skin is back to normal

That's the thing, none of these are guaranteed to work or do anything even after multiple sessions

depends on your scar deepness and type, icepicks can be treated p easily w cross, rolling and deep boxcars wont see as much improvement as shallow boxcars, linear scars or icepicks

there’s different kinds of scarring that require different treatments. The degree to which you can get rid of scarring also depends on how bad they are.

There’s post inflammatory erythema, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and rolling/boxcar/icepick scars which are textural and not pigmented.

You should be using tretinoin and sunscreen daily no matter what type of scarring you have.

Microneedling/dermastamping can help textural scars and PIH.

Other topicals like vitamin C, niacinamide, azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, are helpful for pigmented scars (PIE and PIH.)

I believe that professional laser treatments are helpful for all 3 kinds of scarring. Especially stubborn textural scars and PIE.

In any case, treating acne scars requires patience, it can take years to fade them. Try to prevent new breakouts and keep your skin hydrated/moisturized. Keeping inflammation low and using hydrating products is a big help if you have pigmented scars like PIE and PIH.
