But if they didn't get selected because I took their spot, they never had what it takes to succeed anyways.
I did them a favor honestly. I made them not waste their time on something they weren't built for physically.

Out of ~170 male rowers, ~20 got selected for the first-year top rowing team. I only took one spot, there were 19 others. And I dropped out after half a year, because I didn't care about rowing at all.
I was only in it to try and get out of my depression and get self-esteem somehow. But I quit when I realized competitive rowing didn't have a positive effect.
