Anyone else dislike most old cartoons / films as a kid?

It wasnt that I thought they were bad, they just made me feel uncomfortable in a way

The constant orchestral scores and dramatic musical cues were overstimulating to me as a kid and felt like you could never just simply relax when watching it

The delivery of the voices also sounded unnatural to me and added to that feeling that something felt “off”

The animation itself sometimes felt uncanny too, since in the older style there was exaggerated expressions and the way characters moved made me feel unsettled, even though they werent necessarily supposed to be scary

It wasnt just old cartoons either, I felt the same way about old films, which makes me think it was more about the overall style and atmosphere of older media than the plots
themselves

Did anyone else feel this way?

I think the only old cartoon I actually remember liking was tom and jerry jfl
Even them old other looney tunes shows i sometimes disliked cause the animation made it feel uncanny/unsettling

Yeah im always surprised when someone tells me they grew up watching old 1940s - 60s looney tunes cartoons

Shit always felt too unsettling and overstimulating for me, id be annoyed if they were playing it on the TV instead of something modern

Same, that's why the only cartoon I somewhat tolerated was Shaun the sheep. Their facial expressions weren't exaggerated

I watched a lot of scooby doo too but only like the 90s - 2000s shows/films, i couldnt stand when theyd put the 60s versions on

as a kid i had one of those dvd players with a screen and i had a whole binder full of cds no clue where that shit is at but i prolly have literally every animated movie made before the year 2010
