One question I ask myself is "Would I have thought or done this 10 years ago?". Invariably the answer is no. That's the closest I can come to getting a sense of the measure to which I have gone insane but naturally it's impossible to tell your own insanity level. By definition you are unaware of it if you are truely insane at some level.
