Kill me. About 12 months till surgery here and I am in my late 20s.
Can’t even do other looksmaxxing stuff without fixing this piss poor jaw. Can’t even inject test even tho I really want to. Just months of rotting doing nothing wasting my life if you don’t count natty gymmaxing.

Share your pain too, how over is it, how long have you got left?

Im 18 boutta go through this soon the tuff part is saving up the money for both. If only I wouldve gotten double jaw in my mid teens instead of the orthodonist flaring the fuck out of my teeth. :feelswhy:

we should have decomp house, LDAR in the decomp house
It should have a huge fucking clock that makes a very loud ticking sound to remind you on what your missing out on. And then a Tiktok TV that shows Chad's lifestyle.

This is true, even if it was half true I wouldn't want to risk it.. Better wait 1 year tbh

wdym? Like trimax instead of BSSO? Some people(like me) still need to do decomp for trimax, even with class I bite.

why not do surgery first?
Very reputable surgeon who I and others here like said I need to do decomp.. Honestly I am glad because someone like Super Mario would say surgery first and deliver half assed result. It really depends from case to case, for my jaw decompensation is a must. I am actually heavily recessed, more recessed than most goons getting bimax in this forum that's why I need it. I also had 2 lower premolar extractions done for this too.

What's your current bite state if you don't mind me asking and what would the movements be? Any rotation?

yeah i know i need to decomp too because i have a class 2 malloclusion & an overbite but i just can’t wait 12-18 months, i’m doing surgery first soon

I am only few months in braces so far, 12 to go so currently I have a mild open bite and my teeth are slightly less straight, that's about it. No major changes as of yet, still Class I bite with maybe 4mm gap on the front left side.
I am not sure about movements yet, maxfac just showed me a quick 2d plan on consultation, that's it. Rotation yeah I imagine he'll rotate my jaws quite a bit because I am super downgrown with vertical maxillary excess. He'll also do impaction for a more compact maxilla, honestly I need that too, not only forward movement, it hurts to smile irl despite having "straight teeth".

I wouldn't risk it, man. You don't want to be depressed after going through such a journey. Plus I don't think you'd need 12-18 months when you already have an overbite, consider nature doing half of the orthodontist's job.

If this surgeon tells me I need decompensation then I am 100% doing it, I trust him. He also does a lot of surgery first cases and for me specifically he said I need decomp. Of course I wish I was surgery first but it is what it is.

Surgeons who are willing to do surgery first when in reality you need decomp are just cash grabbers and don't care for their patients. But I don't know much about your case, maybe you don't really need it as much.

Yeah it sucks sometimes but it's not too bad. I had crowding and crooked teeth beforehand, so the orthodontics part of it feels more justified and I'm seeing legit improvements as I go. I do feel really bad for the people who already did braces/invisalign when they were younger and basically have to do it again.

On the bright side it helps with leanmaxxing before surgery, especially Invisalign since it discourages snacking so much

i’m turning 23 this month dude i cant wait anymore, i’ve been recessed too long
you will laugh at yourself when ur 35. You're losing the whole point of the surgery. Having harmonious soft tissue is arguably more important than projection. Even if you will be projected, having a class 2 bite, disharmonious lips will look bad.

? they would fix the class 2 bite with surgery first lol

maybe it won’t be the most aesthetic result possible but atleast i would be class 1

how will they fix it without decomp. Decomp is needed to make the bite class 1. You sure you need it? What ur surgeon said? Do you have a scan? Or r u just talking random shit

you got it through insurance? i have icr as well. but its so niche, were you able to object cosmetic concerns with them?
yeah i got it for free, its actually better for cosmetic concerns also since you have way more freedom to do whatever you want compared to traditional djs. i went to multiple consultations and the ones that only suggested djs had way less movement and like more than one year of decomp required

Mirin ty for the info. if it’s not too much to ask could you tell me ur icr story? i’ve had it on and off since early puberty, when i had my first round of top n bottom braces, and it really really kicked in and started fucking my shit up post wisdom teeth removal likely bc the surgeon has to force your mouth wide open and if ur tmj’s already fucked w short range of motion it’s been known to reactivate icr.
