It's a common "issue" that alt-right organisations online such as Stormfront have been preaching their beliefs on websites in order to gain a more widespread reach despite being barred from mainstream medias unlike established political movements. And their tactics were actually very ahead of time and efficient when you think about it.
At first they mostly targetted places that were pro free speech and centered around interests that are most likely to gather marginalized people (anime and 4chan are the most striking example). However the separation between online weirdos and mainstream audiences have progressively thinned out with events bringing attention to such places through media coverage and "underground forums" rhetoric that automatically appeal to curiosity of the most influenceable populations such as teenagers; to a point that the most alternative and politically incorrect opinions have gained unprecedented attention.
I first noticed alternative political opinions and memes being voiced out in public at my university in 2015. Some words like "libcuck" I would have never believed to hear irl outside of forums.
Truth is, zoomers get their political opinions from forums and the underground is not underground anymore. Matter of fact these places are the decisive propaganda spaces that can impact generations to come.
