Met this girl a few months ago. We started talking on Instagram, had a date, kissed, and after that we kinda dated. But damn, when she’s busy with her stuff—studying, getting her driver’s license, French classes, and soon university—I get so nervous and anxious. I hate my fucking hormones.

I think I’m addicted to dopamine. My dopamine receptors are probably fucked from years of jerking off and scrolling Instagram reels nonstop. She’s one of the few things giving me real dopamine right now and when she’s not around or replying fast enough, I get anxious and obsessive.

Anyone else here struggle with codependency and dopamine addiction at the same time? How do you keep yourself grounded when you feel like your brain is wired to need constant hits? I want to learn how to be less clingy and more stable but it feels impossible.

This just seems like the perfect recipe for the beginning of a toxic relationship, which you will later regret losing, at which point you will experience depression and suicidal thoughts..

Good food that fills you up, walking around town with headphones on listening to hype music, more showers, masturbation, more sleep, team sports

idk, just don't be so clingy

Look for human interaction elsewhere, in other people. Call your mother, sister, cousin, ask them how they are doing. Go out with friends/schoolmates. Use your energy and need for socialization in other directions, with more people. Play a team sport, etc. all this so that mentally speaking you can be more independent from her

But if you stay isolated all day in your house in your misery, obviously you will always sit and wait for things from her
