anyone have issues with eye contact?

I was talking to my mom but i was staring at the ground because I feel too awful about my appearance to look at anyone. She called me out and seemed to be mad about it and calling me rude. There were other things she talked about but overall it just made me feel even more miserable. anyone else have this issue? how do i fix it?
