Based. Genocidal NATO retards let the Kosovar Albanians genocide the Serbs in their indigenous land and create a partially recognized shithole Albania 2.0.

Kosovo belongs rightfully to the Serb Nation

inb4 retarded muslims say otherwise (I am Muslim myself but I support Serbia's claim)

Kosovo is like next to me, 30km at most, i could walk into it. Never been there tho, no reason to i guess idk, my girlfriend has, Prizren is the only beautiful city there, has old ottoman architecture and a good clear water river.

If you actually support Serbia over Kosovo then you clearly know little about the things the Serbs were doing to Albanians since 1912. Kosovo was only part of Serbia between 13th-15th century, about 170 years actually, Bulgaria had Kosovo for longer even, as did the Ottomans, and the Romans. Albanians are the last remnants of the native people in the Balkans before the slavs came, and all of them up to Todays Slovenia escaped south in the Dinaric highlands and later on finally in modern Northern Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo. My own tribe the Kelmendi resettled in Sandzak (Modern South Western Serbia) after losing to the Ottomans in 1741 and converting to Islam. After the Serbs defeated the Ottomans in 1912, they took over that place, and almost all of our people had to change their surnames to a slavic one and stop wearing Albanian clothing so to avoid persecution, this is what my great great grandfather did, and he was the first to have the "ović" suffix on the end of his surname (for example Bečiri became Bečirović, Pepa became Pepić etc.) and he thought my great grandfather Serbian instesd of Albanian and my family started to be inclined to Bosniak identity, so we became bosnians (every western south slavic speaker in the balkans automatically made him a Bosniak).

Blood is thicker then water tho, so even though we consider ourselvs Bosniaks fully, we always refer to Bosniaks proper in Bosnia as "Bosnians" like they sre different, which is true. Our culture is still the closest to our ancestors then slavic bosnians.

They tried doing the same thing in Kosovo but they got raped by NATO (the only good thing NATO ever did in their history, still they allowed Srebrenica to happen few years earlier which i can't forgive ngl)

What about the battle of Kosovo polje in 1389 though?

Serbs view Kosovo and Metohija as the birthplace of their national ethos

The Battle of Maritsa in 1371 was much much more devastating to the Serbian nationhood then Kosovo, its just not fitting for their political agenda, 2 times the dead soldiers, and what actually brought to inevitable downfall of the Serbian Empire. Kosovo was ruled by the Brankovic serbian noble family in this battle, it wasn't part of the Serbian Kingdom proper ruled by the Serbian King.

What does birthplace of a national ethnos mean exactly? Serbia as a kingdom was already a thing before they received Kosovo from the Byzantines in the 1180's. If we are talking about the actual heartland of Serbian people since settling in the Balkans that would be Raška, modern Western Serbi, Eastern Herzegovina, and small strip of Eastern Bosnia.

if those things are true then why is Kosovo so important for Serbs though? They always seemingly make it a central point of their identity even though modern day Kosovo is 95% Albanian

There must be something there that keeps them unable to let it go

Its complicated to explain it fully, but the biggest reason is that Kosovo was where the Serbians stopped being an independent state after the battle of 1389 and came under the Ottoman Yolk for the next 400+ years. That battle was the last one where a big Serbian army confronted the Ottomans, and where they gave their blood for not being subjected. So there were many folk songs made about this battle, about the last heroic stand from the Serbs, but it was mostly in the 19th century when nationalism started in the Balkans where they used Kosovo as an inspiration for the next 100 years of reconquista againts the Turks in the Balkans, it symbolized Serbian Orthodox unity, and a big inspiration for what meant to be a Serb. So from a modern stand point of nationalism, Kosovo is the biggest inspiration, but if we look in the actual reality, Kosovo was never this most important place for the Serbs in real history, Herzegovina, Sumadija and Raska are the actual heartland of the Serbs
